<p><strong>¿Podría resumir para los lectores de Visión en qué consiste la Buena Práctica finalista en el Premio a la Excelencia en la gestión universitaria del Club Excelencia en Gestión?</strong></p>\r\n

<p>La plataforma GAUSS es una herramienta que busca la automatización de los procesos indicados en el Sistema de Garantía Interna de Calidad de los centros UPM. En GAUSS actualmente se realizan cada año más de 4.000 Guías de Aprendizaje de las Asignaturas que se imparten en la UPM, 3.400 Informes de Asignatura, 450 Informes de Semestre y más de 100 Informes de Titulación. A día de hoy, el 80% de las Titulaciones oficiales de la UPM gestionan la coordinación horizontal y vertical mediante GAUSS, contando anualmente con la participación de más de 1.200 profesores. La plataforma ha permitido una automatización del Proceso de Seguimiento de los títulos, un aspecto que pensamos que ha podido ser valorado positivamente por el Comité evaluador por su impacto en la Gestión Universitaria y la disminución de la carga de trabajo del profesorado.</p>\r\n

\r\n
<p>GAUSS está desarrollado íntegramente en la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, en trabajo conjunto de los Vicerrectorados de Servicios Tecnológicos y de Calidad y Eficiencia. Su operativa contempla un sistema de mejora continua que le permite su adaptación constante a los requerimientos, co-creando con los usuarios sus funcionalidades y rediseños, y adecuándose a la normativa académica. Por último, la plataforma tiene previsto en el futuro la integración de otros procesos que faciliten la internacionalización de los títulos de la UPM y la acreditación nacional de los centros UPM.</p>\r\n

<p><strong>¿Cómo se está asumiendo el cambio tecnológico en la gestión en el sector Universidad, en su opinión?</strong></p>\r\n
\r\n
<p>Con un poco de tensión e inquietud, por un lado, y grandes esperanzas por otro. La inquietud viene derivada de no poder ir más deprisa. Pero los procedimientos universitarios son complejos y requieren aplicaciones a la carta. Aunque hay muchas aplicaciones comerciales interesantes, en la UPM trabajamos en un sistema integral en el que todo esté relacionado. Nuestra experiencia es que cuando las hemos desarrollado nosotros, hemos creado herramientas con muchas funcionalidades y muy útiles para la gestión. Las esperanzas vienen motivadas porque las herramientas de Business Intelligence permiten unos análisis de datos y cuadros de mando extraordinariamente útiles para la toma de decisiones. Ahora mismo, por ejemplo, podemos obtener cualquier indicador de cualquier asignatura que se ha impartido en la UPM desde el año 2000 en segundos, relacionar variables como tasas de abandono, perfil de entrada, nota de la PAU, titulación, etc y así poder diagnosticar mejor los problemas y encontrar las soluciones.</p>\r\n

<p><strong>¿La transformación digital es una preocupación? ¿Van al mismo ritmo los estudiantes que las estructuras universitarias?</strong></p>\r\n

<p>Claro que lo es. Sabemos que un factor clave en la empleabilidad y en el aprendizaje continuo (el que se desarrolla en la carrera profesional) de nuestros egresados se refiere a sus competencias digitales. Tenemos que asegurar que todos los estudiantes las adquieren, no solo los realizan estudios en el campo de las TIC, los de cualquier ingeniería, Arquitectura, Edificación, Ciencias de la Actividad Física y el Deporte y el Diseño de Moda. Y es que sabemos también que esas competencias digitales evolucionan muy rápidamente, lo que nos obliga a actualizarlas y focalizarlas adecuadamente en cada sector o campo profesional. Tenemos que lograr que las utilicen y aprendan al tiempo que aprenden otras materias básicas o propias de sus carreras. Es importante también que los estudiantes sean conscientes de su propio nivel de competencias, con objeto de que puedan reforzarlas empleando los medios que las universidades les ofrecemos fuera y dentro de las enseñanzas regladas, o incluso que las adquieran por otros medios. Por ser la UPM una Universidad tecnológica, creemos que debemos estar siempre en la frontera de la transformación digital, y en la cabeza de todo ello, siempre, nuestros estudiantes.</p>\r\n

<p><strong>¿Qué proyecto le gustaría abordar para avanzar en la gestión de la Universidad española en general?</strong></p>\r\n
\r\n
<p>El proyecto más importante es adecuar los contenidos y los métodos docentes para lograr que los egresados salen al mundo profesional con los conocimientos y las competencias que requiere la sociedad del futuro. Ello implica diseñar titulaciones con suficiente grado de flexibilidad para que siempre estén actualizadas, y asegurar que el profesorado tiene una relación estrecha con el ámbito económico y social. El proyecto más importante es diseñar planes de estudios que omitan lo innecesario e incluyan contenidos y competencias desatendidas. Además, debemos lograr que los estudiantes disfruten de una vida académica intensa, dinámica y que estimule su ingenio y creatividad.</p>\r\n

<p>En el ámbito más específico de la gestión, necesitamos herramientas analíticas que permitan anticipar e identificar las causas o factores explicativos del abandono y el fracaso escolar. Estamos perdiendo estudiantes que no acaban de encontrar su hueco y abandonan. Necesitamos herramientas que nos permitan actuar a tiempo para encontrar a esos estudiantes que necesitan más ayuda. En resumen, me gustaría abordar ese proyecto de inteligencia institucional que nos permita conocer mejor a nuestros estudiantes y satisfacer sus necesidades.</p>\r\n
