<p>Nieves Segovia, Presidenta de la Institución SEK, valora para el periódico Vision el 125 aniversario de la institución que celebran este año como el aniversario de “un proyecto educativo compartido por muchas generaciones de educadores, de familias y de alumnos que le han dotado de una identidad que se basa en un <strong>ideal de perfeccionamiento</strong>.”</p>\n
<p style="text-align: justify;">Nieves Segovia ha continuado la tradición familiar en esta institución combinando la vocación por la educación con la gestión más profesional en un sector que combina el aspecto empresaria con unos valores propios.</p>\n
<p style="text-align: justify;">A lo largo de estos años se ha mantenido una apuesta por la Excelencia y la independencia: “Aquellos primeros años fueron fundamentales para entender cómo es la Institución SEK ahora, porque <strong>se marcaron esos criterios de rigor, de excelencia, de independencia, en unos años donde ser independiente no era especialmente fácil</strong>.”</p>\n
<p style="text-align: justify;">El fundador, Felipe Segovia fue, en su opinión “un grandísimo innovador. Combinaba una vocación claramente educadora con esa capacidad de emprender proyectos nuevos. Muchas de esas ideas las contiene el ideario, que se redacta hace más de 50 años y que tiene exactamente la misma vigencia ahora, o si cabe más, que hace medio siglo.”</p>\n
<p style="text-align: justify;">Un colectivo imprescindible y decisivo en un centro educativo es el profesorado, un colectivo al que siempre hay que dignificar porque, afirma, “una buena educación, evidentemente, pasa por un profesorado que sea excelente. Esa dignificación, sin duda, es necesaria, y sigue siendo necesaria hoy en nuestra sociedad. El profesorado es uno de los ámbitos en los que más se ha trabajado en la Institución y que probablemente mi padre trabajó de forma personal durante muchísimos años.”</p>\n
<p style="text-align: justify;">En 125 años <strong>la Institución SEK ha mantenido, como ideario, un hilo conductor “que es precisamente lo que dota de una identidad muy fuerte a la Institución</strong>. Es decir, hemos hecho interpretaciones de nuestro ideario, hemos desarrollado nuevos proyectos, se han creado nuevos colegios, se ha creado la universidad… pero siempre ha existido un hilo conductor de las ideas, de nuestro pensamiento, que se ha mantenido inmutable.”</p>\n
<p style="text-align: justify;">Entre las innovaciones más importantes se encuentra el Bachillerato internacional respecto al cual el colegio SEK-El Castillo está en el grupo de los 50 colegios más antiguos del Bachillerato Internacional de los casi 5.000 colegios que hay en el mundo entero, con lo cual, tener esa visión internacional en los años 70 es consecuencia de aquello que decíamos en nuestro ideario, que queríamos una apertura internacional.”</p>\n
<p style="text-align: justify;">“<strong>La universidad parecía un doble reto</strong>. Por un lado, era un fin por sí mismo, por la lógica de pensar de qué manera podíamos conectar mejor con esa sociedad a la que tenemos vocación de servir, y por otro lado también era un medio para poder perfeccionar nuestras propias actividades a través de la Facultad de Educación, poder hacer más formación del profesorado, poder hacer proyectos de investigación aplicada.”</p>\n
<p style="text-align: justify;">La Institución Educativa SEK está constituida por SEK International Schools, la Universidad Camilo José Cela y la Fundación Felipe Segovia. Fundada en 1892 en Madrid, en la actualidad es la institución educativa seglar más antigua de España. Surge de una tradición familiar centenaria, libre y autónoma, no vinculada a grupo alguno religioso, político o económico. A lo largo de los años, ha sumado a su tradición cultural y docente un espíritu innovador y pionero que le ha permitido dar respuesta, en cada momento, a las exigencias de la sociedad y ser referente de la vanguardia educativa.</p>\n
